For Chinese astrology, 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse, baby! I’m excited because as a Leo, it’s thought to be a good year for us fire signs (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius).
We’re in the final days of the Year of the Snake. We are coming out of a massive clearing cycle. A year of quiet transformation by seeing what was hidden. The snake asked you to slow down, go inward, and release what no longer fits. Shedding relationships, old identities, old timelines, attachments, and parts of ourselves that are no longer aligned with who we are becoming. It wasn’t random. It was preparation. But that chapter is closing.
On Tuesday, February 17th, the Solar Eclipse ushers us in the Year of the Fire Horse, and the energy shifts dramatically! She does not play small. The horse brings movement, fire, freedom, passion, and forward momentum. The horse does not tolerate stagnation. It favors those who listen to their inner rhythm, trust their instincts, and commit fully to the path ahead.
The Fire Horse does not: wait for permission, shrink to make others comfortable, apologize for her desires, or second-guess herself.
Just like the fire signs, the Fire Horse energy is: Bold. Passionate. Independent. Unstoppable. Magnetic. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it.
This is the year where life’s work, demands honesty. If pressure has been building, if things have been falling away, that’s not loss, that’s ignition. 2026 isn’t asking who you were, it’s asking what you are willing to create at full power. The Horse asks us to move, to live more honestly, and to follow what makes the heart feel alive! ♥️
Do the inner clearing now because once the Horse arrives, life begins to move fast! If the nervous system doesn’t get to complete the shedding in its own timing, it carries old vigilance forward. That’s when momentum feels forced, urgency creeps back in, and the Horse energy becomes burnout instead of movement. Supporting the final shed looks like slowing down, reducing stimulation, allowing rest, and letting grief and relief coexist.
How to support the shed for your nervous system:
- Warmth (baths, heating pads, sun)
- Slow movement (walking, stretching, rocking)
- Familiar rhythms
- Early nights
- Simple meals
Prioritize low-demand regulation over intensity. These cues tell the body it’s safe to soften.
Snakes don’t shed to become something new. They shed because the old skin no longer fits the body they’ve already become. Finishing this year is about following your nervous system, noticing what’s falling away, what no longer requires effort, and what’s asking to soften. When the shed completes, what you bring into the Horse year isn’t force or speed, but responsiveness, truth, and a body that doesn’t need to brace to move forward.
Fun Fact: The Fire Horse years only come around once every 60 years. The last one was 1966. It was a year of revolution, cultural shift, and women rising. That energy is returning…
Are you ready to ride?
FULL DISCLOSURE: I don’t put my beliefs in the hands of astrology (traditional or Chinese). However, I do find astrology interesting. I see it as a unique way to call in the changing seasons or years and to help shift our mindsets by providing motivation and encouragement. As always, my faith and future lies in the hands of God, trusting in His sovereignty, providence, and Divine plan.
